WEDDING COVERAGE INFORMATION
My style of wedding photography is known as documentary, photojournalism or reportage which means rather than direct and choreograph your day, I will be there to quietly observe and capture the atmosphere, the spontaneous moments, the friendships and the little details. The resulting images are stylish, modern and most importantly natural.
The day...
Many couples are now recognising that in addition to achieving a set of beautiful images that capture geninue moments and emotion, a relaxed documentary style of wedding photography can ensure that your experience of the day is a fantastic one. Rather than endless military style group shots and lots of bossing about, a documentary or reportage approach means you get to spend lots of time with your friends and family and not feel under pressure to "perform". Apart from key moments which by the very nature of a wedding day require a little bit of direction most of the day you won't be aware of me and my camera. In my eyes one of the biggest complements I receive from my clients and their guests is how unobtrusive my approach has been.
Although the focus of the day will always remain on documentary coverage, I do appreciate that some relaxed group shots of your close family and friends are an important way to document your wedding day and so am more than happy to accommodate this. From experience, I advise that group shots are kept to a maximum of 8 to avoid any disruption to the flow of the day.
Many of my clients also enjoy taking a little bit of time out away from their guests after the ceremony for fifteen minutes or so to capture some more intimate portraits which take in the romance of the moment. These images are very peaceful and relaxed, with minimal direction from myself. A simple but beautiful image of you both walking hand in hand can say so much about how you're both feeling.
I will also ensure that those agonizing wedding planning decisions you made along the way won’t go unnoticed with gorgeous images of all of those tiny but crucial details such as shoes and flowers through to table settings and favours.
Another really popular part of the day is photography coverage of those girly getting ready moments. This is a definite benefit of choosing a female photographer who can be part of all the action without any awkwardness - I've often been known to become an honoury bridesmaid on the day helping out with those last minute dress fastenings. There is also of course that amazing girl's intuition for all of the little but beautiful details in life - it's also about taking a very sensitive approach and predicting those key moments just before they happen. Weddings are absolutely full to the brim with moments and emotion and so for me it's photography heaven with amazing images to be had around every corner.
The Nitty Gritty....
To give optimum flexibility you can put together your perfect coverage a la carte style. Due to the bespoke nature of my pricing I always advise that we have an initial chat over the phone so that I can tailor a photography estimate to your exact needs. As a guide coverage for 2010 starts at around £1500.
All coverage levels, regardless of the time I spend with you on the day, include a password protected online album with reprint ordering service, travel within 50 miles of Leeds, all digital processing expenses and a planning consultation and if feasible venue visit.
As well as avoid any trendy display products that will date very easily I also ensure that my photography will stand the test of time - I never use any fashion led photoshop processes such as blue tints and spot colouring. Good honest photography should be allowed to speak for itself!
There are lots of options when it comes to deciding how to have your images presented. For those who want the excitement of being presented with a finished product you can choose an individually designed album or coffee table book. According to my green policy all of my albums & books are handcrafted in the UK. Or for the creative among you, who might want to put their own album together there are options for print and digital file collections. Flexibility is definitely the name of the game!
I set a limit to the number of weddings I will cover each year so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment - particularly if your date falls over the busier summer season or on a weekend. This limit is to ensure that I can provide the level of personal service and quality that underlines all of my work. From an intial telephone enquiry through to the photography on the big day you will only ever be dealing with me. Please note that a date can only be confirmed on receipt of a signed booking form and booking fee payment and unless exceptional circumstances apply I will only accept a booking request following a face to face consultation as when it comes to wedding photography it's important that you have 100% confidence in the person as much as the photography skills.
I am based in Leeds, West Yorkshire but cover weddings across Yorkshire, including York and Harrogate, Cheshire, Lancashire and beyond.
